Six years ago, my first time teaching yoga to children at a Montessori school was six years ago. With confidence, I was excited about the opportunity. I had been teaching yoga to adults for a while, had two children, and had taught creative writing in Los Angeles schools for many years. After two classes with children aged 3-6 years old, I had to seriously reconsider my approach. It was time to let go of my agenda, my expectations and what yoga was and wasn’t.
